Tom Selleck-2American actor Thomas William Selleck. His first role was the private detective Thomas Magnum in the television series Magnum, P.I. (1980-1988) in which he received five nominations for the Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead actor in the Drama Series. He won the award in 1985. From 2010 to the year 2010, Selleck has been the New York City Police Chief Frank Reagan. From 2005 onward the actor played the troubled police chief of a small town Jesse Stone in nine television films that are based on the Robert B. Parker novels.In films, Selleck has played bachelor architect Peter Mitchell in Three Men and a Baby (1987) and its sequel Three Men and a Little Lady (1990). In addition to his roles in Magnum, P.I., Selleck has appeared in over 50 films and TV shows, including the films Quigley Down Under, Mr. Lassiter and baseball. He played the recurring TV part of Monica Geller's love and affluent Dr. Richard Burke and Lance White on Friends. In addition he played A.J. Cooper in Las Vegas. Cooper also played the leading role in the TV western film The Sacketts, based on two of Louis L'Amour's books.Selleck is a California Army National Guard veteran, a spokesman for the National Rifle Association (NRA) and an endorser for advertisements for National Review magazine, and co-founder of the Character Counts! organization.
